We are excited to invite you to participate in the 33rd Annual Rural and Remote Medicine Conference (R&R 2026), taking place April 16–18, 2026 in Quebec City.
While attendee registration will open in the fall, we are currently seeking submissions for abstracts to contribute to the success of the event. We invite you to submit your abstract for presentations and hands-on skills training opportunities and add-on courses.
Abstract Submission Deadline: September 30, 2025
The Planning Committee is accepting abstract submissions for the following session types:
Session Lectures (Breakout Sessions) Engaging 60-minute presentations focused on knowledge-sharing, clinical updates, or innovations in rural and remote healthcare.
Hands-on Workshops (Small Group Learning) Interactive, skills-based sessions designed for deeper clinical learning. Standard length is 60 minutes, but proposals for 2-hour sessions are welcome.
Add-On Courses (Pre/Post-Conference Offerings) In-depth training offered before or after the main conference dates. These extended sessions—half-day or full-day(s)—are ideal for immersive learning in specific skill areas, certifications, or procedural training relevant to rural practice.
All abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Rural & Remote Planning Committee. You will only be contacted if your abstract is selected for inclusion in the program.

Lead Presenter: Name and email
Co-Presenters: List any co-presenters (if applicable)

For this Indigenous Education Series, Dr. Aldred will provide an overview of the topic of Indigenous women and the factors that help keep us well and the impacts of colonialism. She will weave her own story while sharing key findings and recommendations pertinent to the practice of medicine.

Research Oral Presentation: Presenters will have 8 minutes to deliver their presentation, followed by a 2-minute Q&A session. *Oral presentation submissions will also be considered for the poster session
Research Poster Presentation: Posters will be displayed for the duration of the conference, and attendees will have a dedicated time to view them.
Poster Contest: Students and Residents who register and attend the conference and hold a valid membership are eligible for the $500 prize for the top research poster.
